The Dennis J. Becker American Legion Post 205 has adopted, as its primary goal, efforts to pursue the acquisition of a permanent home. In pursuit of this effort, we will be conducting a number of fund-raising activities.
In the meantime, until we can find a permanent home, we have entered into an agreement with Caddys (the bar and restaurant at the Rose Hill Golf Club) to conduct our meetings and other functions there. Use of their facilities costs us nothing, and we will pay happy hour prices for all drinks. This applies at all times, not just at meetings. Show them your American Legion membership card to get this benefit. Even though Caddys is inside the South Side of Rose Hill Plantation, access is gained by simply telling the gate guard that you are going to the Rose Hill Golf Club or Caddys. The building is the first left after passing through the gate, and the club is immediately on the right.
The Rose Hill Golf Club building, in which Caddys is located, is scheduled to be demolished and replaced soon. Temporary accommodations will be available, but it is unknown as to whether the configuration of those accommodations will be sufficient for our meetings. In the meantime, as of July 2017, we will continue to meet in Caddys. We have already confirmed temporary meeting accommodations at Station 300 Bowling Center, and when Caddys becomes unavailable, we will be meeting there.
