Our Mission
The Dennis J. Becker American Legion Post 205 has adopted, as its primary goal, efforts to pursue the acquisition of a permanent home. In pursuit of this effort, we will be conducting a number of fund-raising activities.
In the meantime, until we can find a permanent home, we have entered into an agreement with Lowcountry Kitchen (the bar and restaurant at the Rose Hill Golf Club) to conduct our meetings and other functions there. Use of their facilities costs us nothing. Even though Lowcountry Kitchen is inside the South Side of Rose Hill Plantation, access is gained by simply telling the gate guard that you are going to Oak Terrace at the Rose Hill Golf Club. The building is the first left after passing through the gate, and the club is immediately on the right.
All regular monthly meetings are held here at Oak Terrace on the first Tuesday of the month. 1PM (1300) for Meet and Greet (Lunch) and 2PM (1400) for the official Members Meeting.
The American Legion was chartered and incorporated by Congress in 1919 as a patriotic veterans organization devoted to mutual helpfulness. It is the nation's largest wartime veterans service organization, committed to mentoring youth and sponsorship of wholesome programs in our communities, advocating patriotism and honor, promoting strong national security, and continued devotion to our fellow servicemembers and veterans.
